About SEPTAR

SEPTAR was formed on January 25, 2007 as the first district-wide special education PTA in the Redwood City School District.

Our mission, vision and values:

• We strive to create more inclusive environments within our educational community.

• We assist families of students with disabilities as they navigate the education system.

• We build bridges between
  the general and special education communities in order to bring increased educational resources and opportunities for all students.

• We partner with parents and educators as we advocate for improvements in the special education system.

We offer:

• Support through community and family resources.

• Informative parent education presentations, student enrichment programs and social activities.

• Collaboration with general education teachers, families and students to help successfully include students with disabilities in their classrooms.

• Support for educators through trainings and grants.

• Interactive Facebook and Google groups for community building and support.
